PUM’s parent had been in jail because of selling and using drug since she was at grade 3. Poor girl was alone in the house with 70-year-old grandma who is sick in bed and mental disorder uncle. The family receive 2,000 THB disabled person allowance to feed 1 sick in bed, 1 mental illness and 1 young student. Every morning, Pum must get up early to prepare breakfast and lunch for her grandma and her uncle then walk 5 kilometers to school. She has lunch at school then carry left over food from school back home for dinner of those 2. Every evening she has to clean up her grandma’s mess because she could not help herself and they don’t have enough to pay for the disposable diapers. One day, both Pum and grandma had to move out from their own home because the crazy uncle attacked them. Her grandma was beaten till unconscious! Now they live in the small boxy house with the door locked around the clock to make sure that they won’t get abused again. Surprisingly, Pum is the top 3 student of the class every semester although she was born with the poor destiny. Last year, her parent was released from jail BUT they are dealing with drug again and we are sure that they will go back in the prison soon so Pum should expect no support from parent I’m sure.
